Southern Africa
Hi,
I know this is short notice but...
Is anyone interested in a 1 month round trip of Southern Africa (or is there someone who would want a riding buddy who is planning similar)
Start would around end of Feb or Early March
Route would be Durban- to Capetown- Namibia- Windhoek.
Victoria Falls and back. about 6500 km (or shorter if need be.

Howzit,
When are you planning to do it? I am torn between the long way up from Cape Town to London via the east coast, or doing a short trip but instead going:
Cape Town, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Cape Town.
Depends on money and if I can keep my online business alive while I do it. Would be looking at leaving in a month or two.
Tony.

Hello Tony
plans have changed a bit since I posted the threat. Via this website I met a guy from Port Alfred who wanted to do a swap with me. He wanted to surprise his wife with a trip through Australia on my bike and I could use her KLR for a month. His wife did not know about it though. Once she found out things chenged and the arrangement was cancelled. So here I was with a flight booking and no bike. I contacted my brother who live 2000 km from here and asked if he was interested to join me. He is not a biker and cant ride. So I am still arriving in Jburg on March 23 and spent a month in RSA and visit the Vic falls before going south to Capetown- however- unfortunately- we will be using 4 wheels instead.
However....
I am in need of a riding buddy to come along with me for an unusual ride from Vladivostok to Europe. I paced a message on this sitebut no takers. Plenty of traffic going west to east but not east west. I plan to start in June.
After finishing the trip I plan te leave to bike with a friend in Holland or Ireland and plan to do Europe to RSA in 2015.
Perhaps a consideration for you
Hope to hear from you\
kind regards
Richard

Pity that's the case. Aside from seeing the girls, I'm not overly keen on riding through Russia at the moment. I think I'm going to stick with the Cape Town to ... trip for the moment. However, if I smartly decide to save and plan more I may be up for the Europe to Cape Town trip in 2015. Good luck all the same.
