Spain in September

Travelling to Spain and Mallorca around 24th September. I fancy doing some camping but have no experience of camping. Looking for someone to have a relaxed two week(or part of) trip and help learn the good, bad and ugly of camping in the sun.

Hi, I have 2 weeks left for Autumn and was thinking about Spain as well.
What are you riding and what type of riding are you interested in?

Hello,

Thanks for your reply. I have booked a ferry for the 24th September and am returning on 6th October.

As far as riding is concerned, I avoid toll roads and motorways. I like to ride through the country roads. Whilst I am not a slow rider, I am not out there to ride as fast as I can. I want to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells without them passing as a blur !

From an experience point of view, I have regularly travelled around Europe. I have spent time in morocco and ridden across Southern Africa. I have also ridden in America. I am 54 and have been riding since I was 16 withiut a break.

I am fairly experienced, but I am always happy to learn from others. That is why I am looking to learn from someone about camping. I may hate it and resort to finding a room, but I really would like to give it a go.

What about you. What can you tell me please ?

Peter

Hi Peter,
I am fairly experienced as well, thirty years of riding or so.
I enjoy on road and even more off-road so would like to check some local trails there - that's why I asked you what are you riding on because if goldwing it will be hard Currently I use xt660z tenere for such trips. Anyway same as you I avoid highways like a plague and prefer relaxing riding. These days I don't do a lot of camping unless I am in remote locations because cost of private accommodation is really low, sometimes same as place on camp ground.
PM me if you want to talk more, my plans are still open.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
