Hey Guys,
I'm 90% in as well. Thanks for getting in touch with these tour guides, let's see what they come back with. I'm sure they know ways to reduce the price or at least get a local (not foreign) company to do it, if booking such a thing via a company from another country gives me a big feeling of "Damn I could have saved half the money".
Anyway, I will meet you at the border, I'm entering with a bike registered in Malaysia so I luckily can roam around freely in Thailand.

So....
To get this locked in we need a 20% deposit. They will require the remaining amount in cash at the border which I informed Zawmin (my company contact) I would be fine with and I assume you guys will also be ok with this?
I am not sure about you guys but I would be much happier laying down my own individual amount for the deposit. If we all agree to this I will provide you with payment details and Quote number to make a deposit against.
I will send you both (and anyone else who may be interested in joining) a personal message with my email so we can communicate directly to solidify the plan.

It's 4 at the moment.
I would think it's likely to be more once we draw closer to the date.

because of the new Thai regulation
Sorry guys!!! We won't be with you for this Myanmar crossing. We were already looking forward to meeting you and enjoying together this fantastic country. BUT... the new Thai regulation says motorhomes and campervans CANNOT APPLY for a permit to travel in Thailand. Consequently, instead of visiting Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar, we will ship our campervan to India (it is presently in Sydney where we will be in a few days). See the below mail we received from the Department of Land Transport. We also had negative answers from travel agencies.
We are sure there is still plenty of time for other people to join. Good luck. Enjoy!!!
Marianne & Bernard
Dear Madam,
Please be informed that the current regulation on foreign registered vehicles does not allow foreign registered motorhome to enter Thailand regardless of its weight.
The attached document is English summary of said regulation, which is available for download on Department of Land Transport Official Website. You can find the summary at the bottom of this page. https://www.dlt.go.th/th/public-news/view.php?_did=1224
Sincerely,

I'd say let's find some more people before we fix things, I'm sure we can drop the price and get a bit a bigger group! I will spend some time posting in different groups/websites next week and try to find more ppl. I'd like to put the price below 1K if possible... I will send you a PM so we can discuss further. Meanwhile, if YOU read this and are looking for a group to cross Myanmar give us a shout! I think we can also be a bit flexible with the dates...Cheers!

Hey guys,
I´m Olli, 21 years old from Munich, Germany.
If we could start in Thailand 2- 3 weeks later, i would love to come with you!
The matter is, i will start in Ho Chi Minh City on March 1st, so it would be a really tight schedule for me to be in Thailand only a month later...
Cheers,
Olli

Hi Olli,
I am a little flexible in starting later into Myanmar, but probably not 2-3 weeks as I will be meeting a friend in India to go along the Himalayas with and that part is fairly inflexible. I could start a week later max i would say but would need to confirm.

Hi Olli,
Check your messages, I have a few options to tackle Thailand at this point in time.
If anyone else is interested in joining this group for entry into Myanmar on the 12-13th of April let us know.

Australia to Europe!
Hi!
I just sent you a PM, but if anyone else is riding Asia to Europe via Pakistan-China-Kyrgyzstan, and will be looking for groups to cross China together, please let me know!
Elisarw@gmail.com
I should be in Jakarta by early December, and KL by Christmas (I think). Would love to cross northern Pakistan as early in 2018 as possible. June??

I was thinking of riding up to the Hunza Valley in Pakistan around June if you want to team up. However I will most likely head south west after that into Iran as having yet another escorted tour will have my funds depleting faster than I am comfortable with after crossing Myanmar, Then to Nepal in a festival season which requires an expensive permit and a guide for that time..and potentially more guide costs for Thailand.
P.M replied by the way!
