Thumbs up Trip from Colorado to Colombia...

Well, here another Rider dreaming about heading south,
looking for buddies to join this adventure.
I am 31 years old
Easy going, fun to be around (they said)
speak both languages, English an Spanish fluently, been riding for 15 years all kinds of bikes in different countries but never crossed frontiers...

I have a sport touring motorcycle ready for the trip...I know SportTouring...

I'm pretty much open to go anywhere and don't have a set route, my schedule is very flexible...
Want to start this trip by first week of August.
I'm in Denver Colorado right now, and planing to enter mexico from el paso or laredo, really don't matter...jeje.
I'm originally from Colombia so once there, i know my way around and even i can provide with accommodations.

Anyway, is there any rider out there to share this tour with?

You can contact me at fernandoaduran@yahoo.com

Thanks and best regards.

Chicago to Ushuaia

I hope to leave Chicago mid September going down. Solo on a KLR, on a schedule, have to be home for Christmas with my wife & kids. Had my freedom for slower travel when I was younger. I'm lucky now to have a wife who is OK with it at any pace.
Keep in touch, perhaps we will meet.

Central America

I'll leaving from LA sometime later this week, so maybe we can meet up. I'm on a DR650, but want to get to Costa Rica to meet my son by early August, so I'll be moving along without stopping much. Give me a shout if you're interested.

Eventually TDF

As usual in my life, my plans have changed. I'm now planning on leaving LA around late August to early Sept.

Hello everyone...

well you know things don't come out as you spec it, everything is going well and i definitely want to make this trip, i'm almost ready....
I'm just finishing up some paperwork with immigration, all should be clear by the end of this month, so i am delayed but not given up..
My new departure will be by Sept 15, its a set date...

I am 31 years young, ridden in south America, some what... bike mechanic and fluent Spanish so i guess that helps...

I have a Suzuki Katana (Sport Tourer) with all the luggage, bike is only 7K miles and fully serviced. i also have challenged my self on this bike as far as how long i can ride no stop, and my last trip to the mountains i put 200 miles one way lunch for 30 min, gas, and 200 miles back in aprox 7 hours, average speed 50 mi in the canyons, so i feel i can handle it no problem.

In the other hand i am not in a hurry and i expect to be in Central America for a month, maybe more if needed. I also plan once in Cent America, ride early in the morning for 3 hours, stop rest lunch rest some more and then hit the road for another 3 hours maybe 40 to 60 miles speed average. witch is a good speed down there... and then look for a hotel / motel / a place to sleep... that's basically the idea, also try to hit interesting points and towns, now on the weekends it's better to rest... and party ( may be... lol) I don't drink but c'mon may be there are few senoritas to meet....

anyway so that's it, at soonest i hit south of the border my plan is no plan... no hurry and looking to absorb the most of the culture in every town... ride of a lifetime

I also will be in Colombia for a little while...

So if any of this sound interesting to any of u, let me know...

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
