As you know, we're still all up in the air over Portugal so we're organising a contingency plan 'just in case'. I've been checking out ferry prices from the UK so we can fit everything in when crossings are cheaper.
That said, try Ferry company: daily crossings, LD Lines ferry services - they can do Portsmouth - Le Havre for £63-78 return around the Portugal dates.
We've tried some camp sites out over the past few months, so if things don't turn out as planned and so long as we can get the dates at the camp site, we're looking at the second weekend in September. I think it's too late in the day to organise anything 'official' unless we can pull out all the stops and get some people down here for presentations, but it's all a bit short notice now.

Im in the same position. If the portugal meet isnt confirmed within the next 2 weeks then theres a big chance I cant make it. Booking time off work etc.
I would still like a trip to the continent before the year is up so If I dont make the Portugal meet then a trip down your way could be a viable alternative.

I have just been offered a new job in Motorcycle dealership.
While this is great news for me, ill be in a probationary peroid and as its the busiest time of year for selling bikes, i will be unable to get the time off for the HU meet
Big bummer I know.
hopefully Dakota and smoking lizard will do their shin dig later in the year when I can make it.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
