Talking Uk to Romania

Hello my name is Alex and I'm going on my first proper trip on my motorcycle.I'm 27 and always wanted to travel a lot on my bike but never had the courage to do it on my on well till now
I decided it's time to stop wasting my youth and start riding my motorcycle properly
So here I go on the 8th of October from Manchester Uk to Cluj Napoca Romania passing through France, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and finally Romania where I will stay for a few days before I start the trip back to Uk crossing Hungary, Austria, Germany, France
So if you have any tips, suggestion, advise or you are just on the same route don't hesitate to contact me
Thank you and safe travels

Alex

You didn't say how long you had...
Bastogne in Belgium is nice and the road to Luxembourg from there is great, it goes through the Ardennes Forest, some great roads (forget the road number) You can pick up the Rhine valley and that as some great roads and scenery. There is also the B500 through the Black Forest in Germany (google it). Southern Germany through Bavaria is super and if you get chance to visit the Eagles Nest in Obersalzberg then do so, an amazing view and a bit of history. Then there is the Alps, I enjoyed the Fluelapass and there was a cafe on that road, some roads better that others but all are good.

Enjoy it where ever you end up or decide to go

Romania

Research and ride the Tranfargarasan & the Trans Alpina, both great roads and you can go down one way and back up the other.....

great scenery and light traffic!

UK to Romania.

Hi, sent you a draft of my ride report from my UK to Romania ride July/August this year. Hope it may be of some interest. Spent a week in Transylvania area and rode both Transalpina and Transfararasen. Went on motorways via Prague, Budapest and back via Bosnia and Croatia.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
