UK to Turkey - June 2025
Hello all,
I'm planning a trip from UK to Türkiye in June this year, subject to taking delivery of my CFMOTO 450MT some time soon! No exact plan, but my idea is to blast through N.Europe to the Balkans and start the adventure there. I certainly aim to see much more of Bosnia, Montenegro and Albania, before heading into Türkiye via Bulgaria. I expect to start in the Northern parts of Türkiye, somewhat inspired by Itchy Boot's recent season 8 videos.
I'm a 57 YO English guy, with around 20 years moto touring experience, mostly on tarmac. Planning to take a 450MT and travel very light, hence no camping, low-cost hotels, no advance bookings and no exact route. I usually like to have ideas in my head about things to see en route, good roads and scenic regions. Prefer the mountains to the coast and perhaps take the odd 2 night stop in interesting places, otherwise moving on every day. Miles / km per day depends on the route, but once through N.Europe I expect to be going slowly enough to enjoy the scenery and avoid too many hours in the saddle (perhaps 6-8 hrs daily will be sufficient in most cases).
Any route / region / things to see suggestions for the Balkans and Türkiye will be greatly appreciated.
Also, be nice to have some company from time to time, so if you plan to be around those regions in June, please feel free to PM me and perhaps share a and some stories / suggestions.
Thanks.

Hi Waffey,
I suppose that you have more than 1 month for the trip? I'm researching routes and places to see in the Balkans (been once, but passed through quite quickly) and wondering if I could spend an entire month there! Be good to share notes, I will PM you.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
