USA to Mexico/Cancun
Hello Riders and friends,
Headed to Cancun area via McAllen Texas Border crossing on January 11th or 12th.
Looking for others who wish to take this ride south. I recently rode from Alaska and I currently have my bike in San Antonio, Texas for the holidays. Flying back to Texas on the 10th to continue south to Mexico. I am a 40 year old retired military and seasoned traveler. I just returned from a year in Asia. If you are a newby and have the fear complex going just come along. I can assist on fuel expense if needed just to the arrival in Yucatan. I will be staying there for about 5 months to dive, spearfish, and ride. I then will ride to Alaska in May or June then start Around the world next fall.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Hoping our paths might cross
Blake,
I will be heading south around the same time, hoping to get out this next weekend. I will be crossing in Arizona at the Nogales border and maybe taking a coastal route down. It is my first time...in Mexico, and on a bike. Straddling that place of thrill, excitement and exhilaration and absolute terror! Lol!
Would be nice to have a friend to look forward to meeting when I reach the yucatan. Maybe we can share some stories, a drink and hopefully a few laughs.
Message me if you would like to stay in touch.
Otherwise I will wish you all of the best on your incredible journey.
May there be an abundance of adventure, memories and even....mud!
Cynthia

Possible route change.... Mazatlan
Cynthia,
Sounds exciting.... just leaving is the hard part. I am very exited for you.
Mexico is amazing and also the people.
What are you riding and when do you think you will cross?
I just purchased my insurance for one year with Lewis and Lewis in LA.
Med jet assist is also a great program.

I am planning on doing a similar route in late feb, minus the extended stay. Taking about five weeks or so to ride from san antonio thru mexico (mountains, gulf, yucatan) belize, guatemala, back to mexico (puerto escondido, etc) back to TX.
Are you in san antonio now? I live in san antonio, nearly the same age and also retired military...

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
