Worldwide: tour buddies / companions wanted for different tours
Fellow drivers wanted for tours - worldwide! Tours on enduro bikes.
To all potential globetrotters and adventurers!
Who is fit, uncomplicated, has experience with the motorcycle also times offroad and loves to get to know new cultures and people worldwide. Munich, >60, top fit, slim and uncomplicated would like to undertake such tours and is looking for fellow riders. Without hurry, with consideration and a little adventurous spirit. Also times stop, where it pleases one. Gladly people with photography experience and good screwdrivers are of course very welcome. Accommodation depending on weather and climate in a tent or in a hotel. Medical care I take over gladly.
Possible destinations (examples):
- TransAmericaTrail +/- on to Mexico - South America. from there a crossing to South Africa would be conceivable. Who would know how this works from a distance with the then necessary Carnet de Passage?
- Carpathians with possibly Bulgaria / Albania afterwards
- Africa (so far I was in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania)
- South America by all means (see below - possibly travel from USA/ TransAm-Trail and then South through Mexiko, Latin America ...)
- Thailand, Laos, Cambodia
- Greece - Turkey - Armenia - Georgia (if Putin has not invaded it, too )
and many more...
Many greetings from Munich
Ulli W

Interested!
Hi Ulli,
I'm an easy going guy in my mid-fifties and interested in participating in some moto adventures. I am currently based in Oregon, United States and I just got back from a solo, dirt& camping trans- US/Mexico trip (Florida to Laredo to Mazatlan to La Paz to Oregon) on my DRZ400s. Before that trip I did the section of the TAT through the Rockies (Green River UT to La Veta, CO)
Nothing is fixed but I was planning on going to CanWest and doing some of the Backcountry Discover Routes (Washington and Idaho) this summer. It has crossed my mind more than once to head up to Tuktoyaktuk and Alaska but I am getting tired of the cold grey weather so maybe south would be a better option. I have been dreaming of Morocco and north Africa.
What I am trying to say is, I am very flexible and it would be great to meet up for some riding anywhere in the world.
Cheers,
James

A couple of us are doing a 3 month ride from San Diego to Rio leaving next January. One 1250GS and one Tenere 700. Anyone who is interested, PM me. Oh and we are both about 60. One French/US and one UK/US.

Hi Ulli,
I am from Hamburg / Germany and am currently planning a longer trip. Africa and South America are on the table. Maybe both? I am 49 and young at heart.

Hi Ulli (and the others),
I am from northern Germany, also over 60, and had been planing several times to return to South America, but because of Corona and others things I had to cancel the plan. Maybe it will be possible in autumn or next year. Beside this idea I am also interested in travelling in the USA (in particular Utah, Arizona), Mexico or South Africa. I would do this trips on an Tenere 700 or a BMW G650x.
Greetings
Rolf

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
