Hi,
We currently have four bikes stored in David, Panama.
They have a government owned Aduana Bodega there (the only one in Panama). It's on the road on the way out of town to the airport.
The cost is one dollar a day(per bike) for the first month, then two dollars a day after that. They handle all the paperwork to suspend the TVIP so you can leave the country without your bike. No money changes hands until you come back to pick up your bike. You will need to renew your ins before picking up your bike. That office is on the same road.
We also looked into storing in Panama City, Panama and San Jose, Costa Rica. The cost is higher and process more complicated as you need to hire a customs broker and pay higher rent to store in a private Government bonded warehouse. Maybe someone else has found other better options.
Another option is to go into Mexico from Belize. The state of Quintana Roo is a "free zone". We've left bikes there with no TVIP.
