Admit to previous (British) nationality die Iran Visa?
Hello,

I'm not sure anyone will know the answer to this, but maybe someone can hazard a guess?!

Having gone to the bother of getting a German passport, hopefully allowing me to enter Iran without needing a guide, I am just about to fill out the form for the code for the Iran visa.
And as this is the first encounter with burocracy since getting the new passport, I've spotted a question which was always irrelevant previously:

The form asks you to specify your previous nationality, if any.

Should I complete it, saying I'm British and run the risk of being told I need a guide?
Should I omit it and then I haven't fully truthfully completed the form?

I am actual dual nationality now, British AND German, as those are the current rules for EU citizens (who knows how long that will continue with Brexit, but I guess that's a different post!) so British is not strictly a 'previous' nationality...?!

I doubt they would make you take a guide for having 'previously' been British (though as you say, technically this question still does not apply to you).

But I wouldn't take the risk, leave it blank.

I have an Irish and a UK passport. I just 'forgot' to mention the British bit when applying. They never knew - I'm not even sure how they would go about finding out. Just make sure you don't bring your UK one with you.

No problem! What's funny is that lots of people have never heard of Ireland, and just assume I'm British anyway!

And make sure you cover your hair Helen, not only is it the law in Iran they will never believe you are German if they see it. Have a great trip.

Just to finish this thread off:
We got the numbers without a problem: the agency didn't want to know where we are going and as aid they would submit the itinerary.
This in itself was great as I saw the Caravanistan agency not only asks you for your route but also tells you to inform them if you deviate from it (sniffs of money-making opportunities to my suspicions mind).

In Erzurum in Turkey we got the visa in 2.5 hours !!! (75€) and could therefore continue directly in our way rather than having to stay overnight. The question about my father being British didn't interest them.

Now we're finally here and enjoying!

Hi!

Sure!

I can't actually find any emails from her with full contact details, though she did send me one once,

But her email address is:
zafary@iranparadise.com

And her name is: Ms. Sharareh ZAFARY

If they have a website I never used it, she just sent across a really basic form we we completed and returned.
She took care of the Itinerary for the MFA.
Paid cash $40 each, once we were in the country.
