carnet are purchased in the country of origin from the automobile association. if they don't do them in spain then they will know where to get them from for Spanish bikes.

Best thing is to do a search (in the HUBB) on "carnet" and learn a bit about this
very important document. You won't go far without it

Hi Dingo,
Can you elaborate a bit on the finacial aspects please, if you don't mind? I want do do a trip from Dubai to Germany beginning of next year and the guys want about 35 or 40000 Dhs deposit for a bike worth 46000 Dhs. Does that sound right?
Thanks
Dirk

Oman Carnet
Hello Dirk,
It cost total of 255 OMR for the whole lot. That is about 200 Dirum for the garentee which is payable to the OAA not a bank and 55 OMR 550 Dirum for the book it self.
The people at the OAA accross from Al Seeb airport turn off in Muscat, go up to the R/A and go all the way around and head back toward the airport and take the turn just before KFC to the right and go up there until you see a kart track on the right and go in there. They also told me that they will renew it after 12 mths for 30 OMR if need be. Only prob is that I have only 10 pages and I forgot to ask about more.
Good luck mate.
Ivan

Hiya, this carnet problem. Does one have to be in Oman to apply to oman aa for carnet? Does anyone know about the insurance option and how it works?
