Carnet Question
had a quick question about my carnet. I am on a carnet that expires on the 8th October and plan to renew the carnet which will be issued from that date onwards, but if I leave one country on the 1st October will the next country stamp me in early on my new carnet, so before the date it legally starts?
Or must I depart on the last day of the carnet? so in this case the 8th october?
Thanks

I was advised by ADAC to try your very best to keep your entry and exits in the same year issued Carnet. It is possible that, on say a longer visit in a CDP requiring nation, that you may inevitably have to stamp IN on one and OUT on the other. This is possible so long as your Carnet was issued by the same issuer, and would cause no problems with them, more just a case of planning really.
I foresee that very issue with myself in Australia. I will be cutting it very fine to leave Oz before the first Carnet runs out.

Ideally do the carnet swap in a country that doesn't require a carnet. Been posts about peple having major problems when they had a carnet expire and didn't notify the authorities about the renewal before the border

thanks for the replies, I was just trying to ascertain if I could "stamp in" early on a carnet, so for example on the 1st October for a carnet that starts on the 8th October so a week later.
I need to leave kenya before the carnet runs out (8th October), i will already have the new carnet so was planning on driving to tanzania but need to fly back to UK before the 8th so wanted to stamp out on the old carnet and in on the new carnet though the new carnet will no be active as it officially doesnt start until the 8th!
Thanks
