I need Carnet de Passage ( Chile )
Hello
I'm Cristian Huidobro, I'll tell you that I'm now traveling with my motorcycle. Around the world . My plan is to travel about 3 years with my motorcycle and I am currently in Costa Rica with my motorcycle, the problem is that after I travel to Europe with the motorcycle and then I go to Africa and Asia and Australia there they ask me for a Carnet Passage that few they know in chile. It is a "passport of la.moto" to show that I am not going to sell my motorcycle in those countries and it is an import permit. Of the.moto. And I've talked to that carnet offices in USA, Canada and Spain and they do not do foreign license plates and they sent me to talk with Club automóvil de Chile, which they tell me they do not do that role, and they do not know it, Then I spoke with the automobile federation of Chile, and they can not help me because I am not a member of their club, and because I ride a motorcycle and not a car.
The office of usa told me, that it could be an authorization or a specific letter of automobile club of Chile either in Argentina as well. to authorize that she can perform the paper for me.moto.ya that they do not perform for foreign enrollments except with authorization. Many Argentine friends that I have met on the route tell me that you can give me a lot of help regarding the Carnet de Passage.
Thank you so much

Hi Cristian... Para comenzar , saludos de un Chileno a otro...
I'm sure that some far better informed folk will correct me if I'm wrong... but I'm fairly sure you can apply for a Carnet both from ADAC in Germany , as well as from the Swiss automobile Club, even if your bike isn't registered in either country, they may ask for some kind of confirmation that it can't be issued in Chile .

Carnet for Chile
been driving Chile on Australian plated motorcycles. Did not require a carnet to enter from Peru. Drove from Canada thru the US and down thru central and across from Panama to Colombia and down. Never asked for a Carnet. Not convinced they would know what to do with it..
Safe travels..

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
