IRani an Consulate in Istanbul - contact? Opening hours?
as the title suggests I'm trying to contact the Iranian Embassy in Istanbul - searching the net I have found several emails for the consulate, but some have bounced back, none have been replied - I need to collect a visa that has been approved.
I'm trying to figure out if it is worth busting a gut to get there for Friday, or whether they are open Sat / Sun.
I've read that there is a quick service (paid for) to have the visa done in one day, does anyone know if this is the case? If so, I'll wait till Monday...
Thanks for any help
Dave (currently in Montenegro)

Thanks Bretrand. Funnily enough I had used Google, and had seen that site. The thread hasn't been updated since 2011 and so far I haven't had a response from the message I sent to that email. Google threw up other sites giving different email addresses.
I've decided not to bust a gut trying to get there tomorrow, I'm currently enjoying Albania, I'll arrive in Istanbul over the weekend and go to the consulate on Monday. Hopefully they will have a fast track service as suggested on the thread.

@dave
Even we are visa free with İran, there are 4 Iranian consulates in Turkey.
Details for the one in istanbul below..very close to blue mosue and st.sophia, about 10 mınutes walking...big building in the corner inside a huge garden near the traffic lights,opposite of the ist.governors office....entrance is by side door not garden door...
procedure starts early in the morning by asking the doorman at the wooden door about the code number..he will give you the bank details on a piece of paper for visa fee..walk downhill to the bank.then back to the same door with the receipt..fill the application forms..generally 5 days later its ok..
they dont work after friday middays,saturdays,sundays, and their and turkish official-religious holidays..(almost 1/3 of the year.)
All the best.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
