By Land, Sea, and Air - USA to Germany via Iceland

Map of our plan
We will be moving from San Diego, CA to Geilenkirchen, Germany this summer and plan to do so on our pair of G650GS motorcycles. Here is the rough plan: - Ride motorcycles from San Diego, California to Portland, Maine
- Drop off motorcycles at warehouse 8 days prior to boarding
- Fly back to San Diego for work
- Motos will be shipped via EIMSKIP cargo vessel from Portland, Maine to Reykjavik, Iceland - 12 day transit
- Fly from San Diego to Iceland to pick up bikes
- Ride Iceland for 12 days
- Board Smyril Lines ferry/cruise ship from Iceland to Faroe Islands
- Ride Faroe Islands for 7 days
- Board Smyil Lines ferry/cruise ship from Faroe Islands to Denmark
- Ride motos from Denmark to Germany
It's an adventurous plan for a couple that has only been to Baja, Mexico with the motorcycles. We've got a lot of questions. Does anyone have any advice or possible "lessons learned" regarding documentation or preparing motorcycles for packing via cargo ship or ferry? Has anyone used EIMSKIP or Smyril Lines that can offer any advice?
As for documentation, I don't even know where to start. We have the titles for both motorcycles. Is a Florida state registration good enough to get them into Iceland, Faroe Islands, Denmark, Germany? Same for our Florida drivers license? I imagine I will also have to get a green insurance card for both motorcycles as well? So many questions that I don't know where to start.
Thanks in advance,
Travis & Chantil
