Medical insurance ....etc!

Hi
Just wondering if any one knows of the best companies offering med insurance for a longer trip e.g 9 months (from UK to NZ via Turkey,Iran Pakistan,India,Nepal,Thailand,Laos.and Oz)There are plenty offering packages for shorter trips (up to 30 days!!)but they are no good.I need a policy that will cover me for the duration of the trip,I also need medi vac should the worst happen!!Ive had conflicting advice on how available that is,does anyone know.Whilst on the subject of insurance, how have others insured their bike.Ive had quotes ranging from extortionate to daylight robbery.Im insured thro Europe but not from Turkey on.If anyone knows of any good companies i would appreciate it.Thanks

Am coming the other way, now in Thailand and still haven't gotten round to getting any insurance yet. Today, I've been emailing a few insurance companies so will post here if I get any quotes actually worth printing out in an internet cafe!

Hi
Heading off at the end of August. This is the second time ,first time just went on a wing and a prayer and luckily everything worked out ok,but there were quite a few close shaves.A lot now I think about it!!!Now that Im older the sensible head takes over and things like insurance seem important! But getting cogent info seems quite hard, everyone seems to have a differing view. All I know is I want comp med cover with med/heli vac for at least 9/10 months covering all the countries I mentioned.

There are several recent topics on this, have a browse. For UK residents the options seem very limited.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
