more headaches with Panama papers
i sailed from cartagena to panama, Carti. captain of fritz the cat was easy going but boat is old. lots of things broke down on the boat. he didn’t really replace the stuff because the boat does not belongs to him. he charged me US$300 (i think its cheap)for the bike, US$375 for 5 days sail. well, at least the bike is safe. he paid for all the labours around the dock to load/unload my bike.
the shit thing is:
1) we sailed to el porviner (in panama, 1 of the island in san blas) to get our passport stamped but its not an offical aduana. the officer didnt give me a temp import permit paper. he only stamp in my owner's registration paper, which meant nothing to nobody. if another officer see this he will not be satisfied with the paperwork i had. he told the captain to ask me: get it done in panama city. the officer didnt know where the address was. captain told me: no problem, u know this is panama, with this stamp on your owner's registration paper you can exit this country.
better said than done. captain is not going to exit this country with me and explain the situation to the aduana at the other side of this country.
today is friday. government office is closed. im in hostel mamalluna. captain took the $, sail me and wave goodbye. HE DIDNT HELP ME TO IMPORT THE BIKE! then he shouldnt had charged me 300 for the bike as it can only classified as my luggage.
do you know where can i get the papers (proper import permit) done in panama city?
2) do we need to get a 'permission to leave panama' paper from some officials (like policestation?) to get out of this country? for me and the bike? im heading to costa rica.
need your advise. didnt really enjoy here...
