Bolivia visa info needed

Looking for any information from anyone that hasbexperience with a US citizen entering Bolivia with motos? We have rode from Arizona down to Peru, and waiting to return to our ride. We have seen info online that suggests that US citizens have send their passports to the consulate (taking 3-5 weeks) No Bueno!
We are only looking to spend 20-30 days riding thru, the bikes will not be there.

Where did you see this "info online?" You'd do well to look for more recent experiences than mine, but as far as I know you still merely show up at the border, pay your extravagant reciprocity fee (cash US dollars, exact change) and fend off requests for bribes, special fees, and presents for birthdays, holidays, and other occasions. I do recall buying a couple of cokes for the uniformed extortionists--I mean, dutiful government employees--given it was Christmas Eve and they were all threatening to go home early.

Seems to run in cycles where they give you a very hard time over photos and such and then a week later it id back to normal.
Have you checked ioverkander fir any recent crissings by Americans. Use the filter to show just the border crossings and check them all
