Saudi registered bike ride through Europe - Insurance?

Good morning everyone.

I'm in the final stages of trying to plan my Epic Ride Home from Saudi Arabia to the UK. I've got my route and I have my Saudi paperwork tee'd up - but I'm coming unstuck on insurance.

I cannot get insurance cover for Europe here in Saudi and I'm struggling to find UK insurance companies who will help me out - so I'm now turning my search onto the continent.

I've come across an Italian website/company offering 30 days 'Green Card' insurance for €118 against my bike's frame number. Simple pop my details in, pay up and they can e-mail me my docs. This almost sounds too cheap and simple!

Has anyone used this website before? Or if it's not as it seems can anyone recommend another company who could provide me cover to ride through Europe to the UK (where I'll be importing and registering the bike). This is the last piece of the puzzle for my trip. Any help is most appreciated. If it makes a difference, the bike is a Ducati Scrambler.

Speak with Polly or Ivo at Doug's Motocamp in Bulgaria. They will sort you out insurance. I and many others have had great service from them. They're again organising the HU Bulgaria meeting meeting at the first weekend in July too.

Got mine from Germany several years ago though

I did the same ride (to UK) but that was well before the problem in Syria - nice n easy back then. I can't remember where but AXA insurance here in Saudi gave me the details as they tried to cover me but couldn't in the end.

I'm be interested to know which route you're taking as I'm planning to go 2018.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
