transit russia
dear all
i wish to transit across the ussr with a bmw r1150gs from Finland via Moscow to Vladivostock, im seeking advice how to do this, namely best type of visa and how can you get round notifying the authorities of where you will be each night as i understand they require this info. Surly it’s not possible to plan each day to achieve this for the visa. I just want to transit and go places as and when i want to, duration 3 months.
(hi grant, if you have seen the news i will now be around for a while)
simon

dear simon my brother I and 4 other guys are travelling thru europe, tukey, iran, turkmenistan, etc into russia and then flying to alaska and down thru the americas on a trip called Terra Circa. for the russian section i got in touch with a visa company in london who have a contact in russia that could "vouch" for us and so we could get the visa without having to list down every nights accomodation. the company is called global visas tel. no. 0044 207 734 5900. they are very helpful and can sort out other visas as well. however they couldn't help us with turkmenistan uzbekistan etc and i still havn't found out how to get around this as they are as stubborn as the russians, i'm presuming i can get one on the boarder. good luck!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
