UK government CDP
Hi
I see the UK gov has taken over providing CDPs (through a 3rd party by the looks of it).
Anyone know the price structure?
Many thanks

It was RAC I think until 2013, and CARS took over, so have CARS stopped being the provider?

No, you’re right, CARS are the provider - I saw it on a government website so thought they were an agency so thanks for clearing that up.
What’s the pricing structure these days?

Dunno, give them a call? Their website doesn't show the full options.

Their FAQ page shows the prices for the carnet, but not the deposit which will depend on the value of your vehicle.

I found CARs shockingly overpriced and slow. Suggest you try another organisation like TCS in Switzerland (whom I used for my U.K. registered vehicle).
Germany’s ADAC wouldn’t do British vehicles.
Dunno how Brexshit has affected this.

We dealt with CARS for carnets in 2017 and 2018 - good service (Sukie was excellent) and no complaints.

Hi buddy,
Can you share details of the CarNet company in Switzerland so I can get a quote for a British-registered vehicle?

There are a number of different authorised issuers who will do foreign vehicles/bikes.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
