USA - Panama and Beyond
Does anyone want to list what the requirments to enter each country and the cost's. I have searched the site and can't find a definitive list.
I know FMT visa for MEX. Then starting in GUAT.
Which photo copies of what docs do they want?
Do the want to SEE your actual TITLE, do you need to take on the trip or just your registration?
Do they want an official translated copy of your Registration or Title?
Photo copies of what. No Carnet required / right? Insurance?? NOT required in MEX I know. (?)
GUAT - HOND - NICA - CR - PAN
I know just when you "think," you have everything the rules will change as that official see's fit! (lol) GRACIAS AMIGOS/A

I haven't been asked for my title, only registration. But I carry both, just in case. No one has noticed that the registration I'm using is defunct (again, I've got the current one just in case). No one needs a translation. No carnet. Insurance whenever you want it and are willing to pay; they'll let you know when it's required.
All of the information you're asking about is available by search on this site. Try it! People have indeed posted long, elaborate lists of what they paid to whom, which documents needed copying, etc. etc. etc.
In the end, it doesn't matter how much information you collect; some of your experience will be different, and you'll stop referring to all your collated instructions after the first few crossings anyway, since they don't really help except in certain instances like the PanAm Honduras crossings. Furthermore, all your photocopies will get soaked and fall apart the first time you leave them in your jacket pocket while riding through torrential downpours......or is that just me?
enjoy,
Mark

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
