Kevin
I'm afraid you will need to contact individual embassies / consulates in Canada to get the official word. The following link should get you the list, and many of them have their own websites.
http://www.embassyworld.com/cgi-loca...count=0&menu=1
We are also Canadians, and we found that no visas were required for western Europe or South America, but quite a few in Africa. Australia also requires visas for all nationals, many Asian countries require them.
For the most part you want to get the visa in the country which borders the one you want to visit, as they are usually only valid for a few months. So you need to inquire of the embassy whether visas are available in the region and which cities.
Good luck!

This website, which is run by The Government of Canada - Department of Foreign Affairs provides travel information for all countries of the world.
About ¾ of the way down each country's information page, you will find a section entitled Entry Requirements, and this will indicate whether or not a Canadian citizen needs a visa to enter.
The information provided elsewhere in the pages about the various countries tends to be a little more cautious than the reality of things (guess this is typical of government sites) - for example, under Slovakia, the report states "Few gas stations accept credit cards", when I was there this summer, every gas station I went to had the new, modern pumps where you just put the (Canadian) credit card into the pump to pay, you didn't even have to bother to go inside the store. Exactly like Canada.

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
