air shipment, US to UK?
Im told that due to our stupid governments new rules, I cant do a fly & ride type transport. They say it will take a week or so once I drop my bike off at the airport in NY, until I can pick it up in London. Is it faster to go thru Canada?
How dare anyone have fun, without a new rule to screw it up.
Maybe I should go by boat?
Thanks, Doug

Sorry Doug, but I don't understand the trouble with taking a week to ship the bike. I know it is tough to live without your ride but surely you can do a week!
We dropped our bikes off at Air Canada Cargo on a Thursday (in Calgary, Alberta) and the plane flew on Saturday so they had a couple of days to put the bikes on pallets. We picked the bikes up on Monday afternoon in Frankfurt and simply rode out to the autobahn.
I think you can rest assured that a boat will take much longer than a week.

Im not saying I CANT do it, just dont want to. I will have a week in the UK to kill, dont know anyone, no way to get around, etc.
Cruise ship will take 6 days. Costs more, but it may even out, as when I get to the UK, I can just head out.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
