Hi,

Has anyone heard about such problems, has anyone did this (and in the end succeded :-))?

Ethiopia
It is better if you drive. Although it probaly is legal and can be done, the customs authority struggles with proceedures out of the routine.
I have a friend that is a licenses customs clearing agent here in Addis. His email address is siscustom@ethionet.et
Sometimes things get lost in communcation so make it clear to him these are motorbikes and that you will be taking them out of the country and tell him how you will get them out (airfreigt or drive them).
I would also check with the Ethiopian Embassy in your country, althought they may tell you it can not be done. Believe me, it can.
You might want to ship them to Djibouti and then drive them to Addis. It is a nice drive.

Shipping the bike to Ehtiopia
Hi,
Hope you managed to send your bikes and had a good time. I´m thinking of sending my bike to Ethipia in Nov 2015. My bike is now in Spain and I was wondering how you managed to send them. I would appreciate any update and info.
I also assume that I don´t need any carnet for any of these countries except for Iran & Egypt. Is that right?
Furthermore, I´m thinking of returning overland, any idea how to get to Turkey? Better over Djbouti and then some boat from somewhere to Iran or ...?
Thanks so much.
