Alaska or Canada (BC) to Australia?
I've juast done a quick search here and have found very little information. Has anyone actually shipped from Alaska or Vancouver to Australia (East Coast)?
Any leads would be useful. I have one for Vancouver which I shall follow up but Alaska anyone?
Other than that does anyone want to buy a very loved KLR650C in UK plates in Alaska or Canada in about August/September? I'll obviously post this in the for sale bit as well.
Thanks,
Michelle

I'm going from Melbourne to California, so ne help from me. If I was on a newer bike, I'd probably sell it and buy one on the next continent.

My experience is in the shipping section of HU (Brisbane to Vancouver) from when I did the shipping thing in Sept last year. That should at least give you an idea.

Melbourne-Vancouver-Melbourne
We shipped 8 BMWs from Melb-Vancouver and return in 2005, in one container. No problems.
However, I do believe that it is possible to ship just one bike through the same agents that we used, on a "Less-than-Full-Load" basis. This is sea freight, of course. Shipping time was about 5.5 weeks, from memory.
Vancouver agent is:
Adanac International Forwarders Ltd
125, 6086 Russ Baker Way, Richmond BC V7B 1B4
Contact is the Vice President - Craig McKay.
Tel: 604 273 8611
email: cmckay at wirbc.com
If you want to investigate this further, PM me and I'll give you the Melbourne agent's details, when I find them.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
