Bike's from Netherlands to Almaty, Kazachstan

I organise the shipment for a group of bikes to Almaty. I donot know if we have enough riders for a half or if there are more people a whole container. So I want to know if there is more interest here. The price will be about €500 and we will drive our bike's out the customs in Almay the 16 of july 2012. After that everybody goes his own way.

My dutch thread is here

Yes, the dates are the same. We will pack the container 6 weeks or more ahead because the container takes 35 days and we want to be sure the bikes are there. A bike friend has a custombrooker office and we can crate or put our bikes in the container in his shipment house. He also takes care of all the paperwork and has the contacts in Almaty where our bikes will be waiting for us. We are planning to go as a group out of the wharehouse through the customs. After that every body goes his way. Price is still not fixed.

any more questions, just ask, Ad

Hello

I’m a friend of Steven van Diepen (“The Dutch”) that you probably know. In fact we went together to Algeria (until Tamarasset) in 2010.

Your plans sound very good but I will only be available in September/October 2012.

How are you planning to come back to the Netherlands? Are you planning any bike transport to return?

My email is: bernardofeio@yahoo.com.br we can discuss some more details out of the forum if you prefer.

Hi

I missed this thread when you wrote it and have been away travelling inbetween. Luckily I've seen it now.

I am very interested in shipping my bike in your container. The dates are good and the cost is fine. I can easily deliver the bike to you in NL whenever is convenient. The bike is likely to be a Honda Transalp, or possibly a Suzuki DRZ400. (I still need to decide withether I'm going middle-weight or ultra-lightweight )

I've been planning a trip to Siberia and Mongolia for 2012 at http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...a-2012-a-59454 but now also want to ride in Kyrg/Taj/Pamir. I will probabaly do this Kyrg/Taj/Pamir/Siberia/Mongolia trip in 2 halves: summer 2012 and 2013 and park the bike in UB/Mongolia inbetween.

Please reply here in this thread or via email (see my website in my signature). I don't think you can send private messages via HU until you have at least 8 posts. Unfortunately I can't read Dutch, but will try to put the thread into a translation program.

Best Wishes
Chris

Hello Feio,

Molst likely there will be a transport back too. A group of bikers want to travel through the Stans and than ship the bikes back. Maybe you can join them. I will keep you posted about that.

And Chris, At the end of januari you have to decide. i will open a account and everybody that wants to go must put money in there. Not going is money gone. Otherwise there is nothing to organise. Where do you live?

Let me know if you want more info, Ad

Hi Ad
Paying in advance to secure a space in the container is no problem. I'm based in West Yorkshire in England, about half way between Manchester and Leeds, and have friends in NL and family just over the border from Arnhem in Germany. I have a van so can deliver bike and drive home or ride it to yours and fly home.

Apart from bike ownership papers/my passport details is there any paperwork that's needed?

Best Wishes
Chris

Hi there. I am hoping to ship my bike for Holland to Astana in Kazahkstan, but it will need to be there on June 18th-ish. I don't know how that might fit in but it might be worth pursuing. I'm on rod.currie@talktalk.net . Than ks and regards, Rod C
