Brisbane to Kuala Lumpur
Sept 2005 I'm shipping a newish Yamaha DT175 (re. Vietnam size restrictions to 175cc), Australian registration, for a rock climbing/motorbike trip starting at Kuala Lumpur then thru Thailand with a couple of side trips to Myanmar, then Laos, Vietnam (leave bike on Chinese border if they still don't allow foreigners to ride there) China, Vietnam (pick up bike), Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Thailand and Finish Bangkok!
Yamaha are happy the bike will cope with the trip. My GF and I, our gear, including climbing gear, combined is less than 180KG. I think it was a Yam 185 I had several years ago that survived some harsh treatment, I'll be gentle with this one!
Been quoted approx AU$400 to get the bike to KL (depends on final weight), the freight company has offered to let me re-assemble the bike in their warehouse
"Carnet de Passages en Douane" (CPD)issued by the AAA.
Any tips please?
