You can now only buy ferry tickets when traveling with a motorcycle in Alat 50 miles from Baku.
You can camp at the ferry port.

Baku Azerbeijan to Aqtau Kzsachstan
Hi Mark and everyone!
We plan the same ferry crossing for ca. 22. July 2017.
Is there a reliable timetable for the Baku - Aqtau crossing available somewhere on the net, since the one on the official website Caspian Sea Ferry Company
http://www.acsc.az/en/pages/1
is not up to date and shows infos dated back on May 2017 ?!
Thank you all

Ferry from alet (Azerbeidjan) to Kuruq south of Aktau (Kazachstan)
When you want to take the ferry from azerbeidjan to kazachstan don't dream. There isn't any schedule at all. Even on the day of departure they postpone there depart or go earlier. The are not capable to plan at all.
It happened us we were 24 hrs waiting in front of the harbour at see!
Tickets you have to by at the harbour itself to pay in dollars. No use to pass by an agency.
Don't hurry, there is plenty time when they say 'go go go'. There are many formalities to fulfill.
In general the people who work there know who sail with them and call you.
Ticket price 80$ per person and 110 per motorcycle. Plus 20$ port tax.

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
