Cape Town customs clearance procedure
Hi,
I have contacted the agent in Cape Town that will handle the two motorbikes I ship from Antwerp to Cape Town. He has informed me on the costs involved and suggests doing the customs clearance as well. I rather prefer doing this part myself (have always done it myself, turns out to be cheaper and often quicker as well). The agent is not so keen on providing information about the procedure.
Anyone done it before and knows what to do?
-First to the agent
-Port authorities for BL
-Customs for clearance
-picking the bike up in the port warehouse
Is it that simple? How much time should I foresee?
In Chile and Antwerp I was on my bike in about half a day, but I have heard horror stories about other ports...
Tnx for your information
Tom
