Has anyone used the fabled Carlos?
Thanks for your response Tony.
There are a couple of reasons I was looking to go to Cueta instead of Tangier: - I've heard petrol/diesel is far cheaper in Cueta than it is in Northern Morocco, which is why I'm going there first before heading into Morocco.
- Also, from what I've heard Cueta has a fraction of the hassle experienced in Tangier.
Can anyone verify this?
With regards the ferry to Cueta, I've managed to find this: (sorry, can't find the original post now, but I saved this snip) I've just returned from a marathon six-week, 8200-mile trip to Morocco and beyond. In Western Sahara I met up with several British motorhome owners and they told me of a guy known as Carlos who organises cheap ferry tickets across the Straits of Gibraltar.
Apparently he is very well-known in the motorhome community and operates from an office close to Lidl and Carrefour in Algeciras (come off the E15 at junction 112). Motorhome owners sort their tickets with Carlos, then do their shopping and park overnight at Lidl before getting the morning ferry. One couple said their ferry this time from Algeciras to Ceuta was €100 return for motorhome and two passengers.
Can anyone corroborate this? Sounds almost too good to be true! :confused1:
