Free shipping??

Hi there,

So I have a question that I'm hoping someone here may be able to help me with...

I work for a major airline and one of the perks is I get a sizeable amount of free shipping each year... but this does not include motor vehicles...

Could I *hypothetically* disassemble a bike and ship it as "motorcycle parts" and then reassemble the other side? Or would this cause issues with customs etc?

Cheers,

M

We're calling in PanEuropean who for sure has loads of experience on this theme, but in my view it won't be possible as you would have to import parts for some reason declaring to customs you will use it for this and that (sale, donation, what was the purpose of getting the parts in that country etc).

Really curios what M will say from his experience.

cheers

Hi dooby thank you for your reply, I have zero experience of shipping, I've never sent anything other than a parcel with royal mail! Haha

I only found out the other week that my employer provides the shipping perk, it's buried in a sleepy corner of the companies intranet. Don't know anyone who has used it (or even know about it) so I thought I would ask the advice of the hubb who DO know what they're on about!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
