Girag June 2014
I just shipped my bike from Panama to Bogota. It cost 902 US. I just showed up at their office in the Cargo Terminal and paid my money. I then walked overto Customs and had the exit stamp on the paperwork.
I arrived at 9am on a Thursday morning and the bike went the same day.
In Bogota I went to the Cargo Terminal which is in front of the Passenger Terminal. Girag was easy to find but I discovered that the bike had been shipped by Iberia . One at Iberia I got the paperwork and went across to DIAN which is on the 3rd floor of the building outside the Terminal. I got the permit from a very nice lady. She didn't inspect the bike as she had seen it in the Wharehouse. I went back to Iberia's office gave them the papers then to the wharehouse and aftera few minutes rode the bike down the ramp and out into Bogota's traffic..As Girag is using Iberia I wonder if going directly to them in Panama would be cheaper.
Speaking Spanish definately made the process quicker but it is not difficult.
So far Bogota has been amazing.
