Help! Puerto Natales to LA Shipment
Hola!
I am a solo rider doing the PanAmericana on a V-Strom from New York and ran into another solo traveler on an Africa Twin from LA. We are both going to meet up in March 2019 around this area: Puerto Natales, Natales, Región de Magallanes y de la Antártica Chilena, Chile.
We are both looking to share a container and ship our bikes to LA. There is no rush on the shipment arrival date, but it should leave NLT April 1st 2019. I've heard there was a shipping expert lurking on this site. Please help!! Thank you!!
I am writing this from Peru!

It might be that you'll find a shipper in Puerto Natales, but I think you'll find it a struggle. Better luck in Valparaiso, a mere 3000 km to the north--it's a good thing they are mainly very scenic kilometers--one direction mainly on Ruta 40 (Argentina), the other along Ruta 7 and 5 (Chile). Or there's the Navimag option, assuming they're still running.
I'd be happy to hear otherwise....but Puerto Natales is not much of a city, and not much of a port.
Hope that's helpful.

I would have to agree with Markharf here. I doubt that you will find any shipment possibilities from Puerto Natales.
Valparaiso is a good option. Take the ferry from Puerto Natales to Puerto Montt - its a beautiful 3-4 days cruise through the chilean Patagonia and fjords (albeit a little costly, but cheaper after 1th April I belive...) and then ride the 1000 kms from Puerto Montt to Valpo, it can be done in 10-12 hours and youre there. Or ride through Argentina on R40.
Best of luck!
