magadan to alaska

Ive checked out what information is already on this site, but it seems to be no longer current. I know now that there is no airline company operating between magadan and anchorage, at this stage. so what options are there? there will be 3 bikes. 2 want to get to anchorage and one wants to get to los angeles.
So is there a ferry / flight from magadan to vladivostock? and from there a ferry / flight to anchorage and los angeles? or does it have to be a ferry / flight to japan or korea. the bike that has to get to los angeles will be travelling alone as i have to fly back to australia for a couple of months, so once my bike gets to vladivostock i think im committed to getting it on a plane via either japan or korea. the other 2 riders will be travelling with their bikes so their options are a bit better.
Any info would be appreciated.
thanks
neva

I have come accross the following links - I'm not sure if any of these would be useful, but you can try it out.

This page have some links towards the bottom of the page for russian cargo companies and russian airlines. Most of the sites are in Russian however and unfortunately my Russian is no good . You can use this site though to try and translate, but I think it will only give you the russian words in a more readable format (Translit.ru - òðàíñëèòåðàöèÿ - ëó÷øèé ïåðåâîä÷èê ñ òðàíñëèòà).

'TRANSAERO - Routemap

Hope you can make something of it.

Good luck
Jacques

Shipping

You can ship your bike from Magadan to Vlad by sea, by air cargo I don't know. The airline to contact is Air Vladivostok that has direct flights twice a week. They will let you know if you can ship bikes by air cargo. Vladivostok Avia.

By sea, I know some guys have shipped their bikes north from Vlad, but haven't come across anyone that has shipped south. From Vlad, you can ship/ferry to Korea or Japan and from there, multiple shipping or air cargo options exist to the west coast of North America.

When are you riding to Magadan?

Hello!

Hello!
Russian internet say, that
From Magadan you can go to Vladivostok, and then go to Japan or Korea (Âëàäèâîñòîê Àâèà - this is site of Vladivostok aircompany).
1 time of week (Fri) you can go to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskij, and then go to Anchradge (Sun).

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
