Multiple bikes in a shipping crate & other cost saving ideas
We're in the middle of trying to ship 2 bikes from port Klang to Vancouver and are looking at ways to reduce the cost of shipping.
I know from previous experience when air freighting that each bike went in a crate that was 1.8 cubic metres. I've seen others on the hubb sticking 2 bikes in a single crate when shipping by sea and assume this saved money.
I mentioned this to a shipping agent today and they said something about one crate per carnet item. It this true? given that others have done it and that people on here often share containers it would seem unlikely.
Also, if anyone knows of ways to further reduce the cost charges do let me know!...
thank in advance
