Need Crate in Düsseldorf, Cologne or arround there
Hi, I would need a crate for my Africa Twin in or arround Düsseldorf, Bonn or Cologne to ship my bike to Auckland, NZ. I would need it in the first week of September.
I asked in HD, Yamaha and Honda. They all use meanwhile their crates more than one time and have a system in place and if not they have cooperations with DHL or something simular and give the crates to them ... No chance of getting one.
As the jouney goes to NZ it needs to be an aluminum crate or an metal crate where I can mount some whalls out of special wood ...
Any idea where to ask?

Hey Guys,
try joining the official Harley Dealer. If he is in a good mood he might give you the crate for free and they are very robust. There is one of 245x125x75 and one 260x110x125. For the bigger one there are two steel bows you can add two or three more, than it is really robust. There´s a tough cardboard box around. You can also lower the crate by cutting the bows and the cardboard box. The same style are the smaller ones. They are closed on the bottom and have eyes attached to fix the bike.
I´m shipping two bikes on September the 19th (pick up by the truck in Speyer) over Intime from Hamburg to Perth with such boxes.
I think they are reasonable. And you will have no need of expensive special treated boxes.
Best regards perhaps we will see us on the road. We heading over to NZ in February.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
