Shipping from UK to NZ
Hi there guys and gals!
Just thought Id post a friendly word of warning. I have just shipped my ZX9 from the UK to Wellington and imported it permanently. Its taken about two months altogether door to door by sea.
I was able to track the container on the shipping line website which at least kept me informed of progress. All seemed well...infact all was well but it was more by luck than judgement that the bike arrived in one piece! The crate was shot to bits...trashed in other words. It was the flimsiest excuse for a crate Id ever seen. The customs guys here in NZ said it was the worst example they had seen. It was no more than a rough sawn base nailed to an "open" framework of timber and plywood. Miraculously the bike survived undamaged. Who was the shipper? You guessed... Frontier Forwarding of Feltham, Middlesex. They have been mentioned on this site before and I can only reiterate...avoid them like the plague. I was lucky, your bike might not be. email me for photographic evidence if you need convincing further. Meanwhile, if you do decide to come biking in NZ, you will have the time of your life...it's biking heaven! Enjoy. Dick.
