Shipping south from Ghana, some advice please.
Hello everyone.
I am currently in Mali and due to the ebola border closures travel south is becoming an issue. I have been thinking of heading down to Ghana and checking out the ports of Accra and Tema. I will be going to Togo so I will look at Lome as well. It seems that because of the Nigeria/Cameroon border closure shipping over the problem may well be by best choice.
I have done a few searches on here and not come up with too much. Does anyone have any information? Walvis bay in Namibia has come up. Anything would be of help for me to follow up.
Thanks everyone.

I would suggests to try out, if the borders are really closed. We dont have really validated informations here who are mentioned about overland border crossings of us travellers.
Today I read about overlanders in Westafrica, where the ebola outbreak dont seems to stop their border crossings:

There overlander report their current experiences about bordercrossings of
Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire.
Where they have to wash once their hands at the border and once they meter the body temperature, or have to fill a form.
One of them too write an blog: jealousyreloaded.bplaced.net
I guess that it is more relaxed, if you are there, as here if you watch the news and some forums...

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
