Shipping to Peru (or nearby)
I'm planning to ship my Motorcycle to Peru or near by. Does anyone knows a contact/company that I can use it. Thank you in advance.
Alex.

You might have more responses if you said where you're shipping from. That aside, have you done a site search? This question has certainly come up before.
Hope that's helpful.

You might also get more responses if you had a more meaningful title and posted in the right forum.
I'm moving this to 'Trip Transport' forum and changing the title from 'Help please!!!' to 'Shipping to Peru'

What are you planning to do - live there, in other words import permanently, or travel from there, or??

I have gone through this website and many others. But no luck in finding someone who can help. Started with Carrie at Motorcycle Express and now I am talking with FRETCOT. I am assisting a friend who started in Argentina and had to pause in peru due to a broken ankle requiring surgery here in the states. He wants to continue his journey to Prudhoe but would like me to accompany him. I need to either purchase a bike in Peru or Ship one from USA to Peru. The goal is to ride back to Texas.

Have you tried Hill Shipping - the big ad at the top of this thread? They can generally help with anywhere.
Otherwise, fly it from Texas, shouldn't be too bad. And a LOT less hassle and port costs than shipping by sea.

Also, have you checked the "similar" threads at the bottom of this page?

Finding an EXACT route info is always tough, so expect to look for something "similar" - anywhere in South America will do, contact the company and see what they have available. I can tell you that is a VERY rare shipment - I've never heard of it being done. Perhaps Ecuador, or Colombia. Or buy something inexpensive there, ride it home, and sell it for parts or junk it - don't expect to legally import it - but DO ask your local DMV what they think to plate a foreign bike. It's almost impossible into Canada for instance - lots of time and money or old and antique is possible.
You MIGHT find some info here: see Shipping the bike: https://www.horizonsunlimited.com/get-ready/shipments
Good luck!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
