Hi there,
I just spent a couple of days researching shipping from Vancouver to New Zealand, as my bike goes outthis coming friday ( or at least I do.. )
Grant & Susan gave me some starters, and I also contacted a Vancouver branch of the company I used originally from Belgium to Buenos Aires. The results were, assuming you crtae the box yourself, for approx 260 kg's, 2.2 x 1.45 x 1.5 Metres was:
JAS Canada
Freight 170USD/CBM
Dangerous Goods Certificate 75USD
Handling/Docs/E & O 63.50USD
Should the dimensions you have supplied be correct the total cost without insurance is $954.50USD.
Insurance is available at an additional .40USD per $100.00 value Minimum
$40.00USD ie. if the motorcycle has a value of $10,000.00USD insurance would cost $40.00USD.

Motorcycle Express :
These guys are specialists in Air freight, and it is perhaps worth checking that price as well as shipping. In my case I only asked for shipping.
"Assuming the bike is already crated at the time of pickup,
it's approx. US $1300 via sea freight, door to PORT"

Lastly I contacted ECU line :
Ocean Freight : US$120.00 Per W/M (1.00cbm = 1000kgs)
Fuel Surcharges :US$5.00 Per W/M (1.00cbm = 1000kgs)
Handling Charges :US$50.00 Per Shipment
Cut Off :Every Thursday's Noon
Vessel Departure :Following Tuesday
Shipment Routing :Ex Vancouver via Singapore or Hong Kong to Lyttleton or Christchurch
Transit Time Approx. 38 Days
Insurance Cost :Not Available
Remarks :Wooden Crate is Required
Obviously, these guys were the cheapest, but for some reason, there unable to insure against anything excepting total loss of the bike.
