HI All.
Scoured the internet but no joy yet.
Looking to find out the cost/feasibility of transporting DL650 from UK to Lisbon, Portugal this spring/summer. Was hoping via road haulage so bike arrives and I fly in day of arrival so pick straight up from drop off point.
I am sure there used to be guys doing this but can not seem to find any now.
Any leads/ideas please....????
Many thanks

Motofreight are the transportation experts, though for a short journey like Europe it might be easier to take the ferry down to Santander and start your trip there.

Easy, but much slower if you're pushed for time!

Just as a thought, when pressed for time so much that a ferry is not a good option, consider just flying in and renting locally. May be price-competitive to the cost of shipping a bike both ways, although obviously you don't get your own luggage etc.
I've rented a maxi-scooter from https://www.lxrent.pt/en to go out to Cabo de la Rocas for the day, and had a very nice experience with them.

if you have the time then ferry it should be as there are some great roads to ride on and see the sights.

Plymouth-Santander is 20 hours, that's only a day. Likely to be a whole lot cheaper than shipping a bike and following by air too.

When I did Portsmouth to Santander it was over 30 hours, possibly due to currents or some such.
And then Santander to Lisbon is another day, if you're just doing it on the fastest roads (and who wants to do that?), and then the same amount to get the bike back again ... if you only have one week for a trip but lots of money shipping the bike makes sense.
I regularly do short trips because that's all I have time for, so I can sympathise with others in the same boat even if they have more resources at their disposal than me.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
