I would think most of the regular servicing is; - changing oil and oil filter
- valve adjustment
A reasonable home mechanic can do those for minimal costs.
Other thing like air filter can be done more or less frequently depending in the conditions that the bike has been subject to.
Things like checking the timing are left overs from mechanical pints days .. they don't need to be done anywhere near the extent that is typically specified in servicing books.
If you insist on 'professional' servicing you will be hard pressed in an extended trip, best if you can perform these simple services yourself.
