Where to buy a European Camper?
Hey, I am trying to find a forum or some such to buy a camper for a 2 year journey around Europe. Try as I might, I can't find any online forums like this one that have anything like campers for sale by travelers. Yes, I have searched mobile.de and the like but nothing 'from travelers to travelers'.
Any idea folks?

There's a street in Earl's Court, London where travellers with vehicles for sale at the end of their trip and travellers wanting to buy vehicles at the start of their trip meet up. I believe they're mostly Australians or New Zealanders so perhaps you could find contacts in the Earl's Court Aussie community to give you more details.

You can buy a vehicle in GB if you have a uk address, although getting insurance might be a problem. In eEurope it is much more difficult unless you can get an individual or a company to act as your proxy.
Turner in Amstredam do have a scheme where they act as proxy and that might be a possibility

I can't see buying from other travellers will give you a better deal than just checking eBay, Autotrader and other sites.
For example, for £1500, Fiat Ducato camper van | eBay

an ebay search for 'expedition' often brings up some interesting items
Expedition trucks for sale as well is a possible, although generally pretty high end stuff as they're a broker.

Agree with TIM buying from Traveler can be a risky option various reasons.
Next prob is you will need a UK address thru which you are contactable for registration purposes . you will need same for insurance cover , which if issued in UK will cover rest of EU (at the moment) but need to inform Ins co for full cover in other countries , very difficult to get 365 out of UK insurance cover , also need to keep up to date with road tax and roadworthy cert in which ever is country of registration valid for 12 months in the case of UK
Ebay or Gumtree or Autotrader RV all good sources for vehicles both LHD and RHD . What sort of vehicle are you thinking of ? HTSH

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
