i must be a n00b...
...though i'd consider myself a mid-level to advanced computer user, i have NO idea how to visit any of the 500 some-odd communities on this site (INCLUDING MINE) would be nice if someone would be so kind as to fill me in.
Simple suggestion: Have a link prominently displayed on site saying :VISIT COMMUNITIES! Would make things REAL easy (and isn't that what we're here for?) (c:

Hi,
Depends on what you call "Visit" I guess!?
CONTACT Communities is via the link on the left under Community. You'll also see when you get there that a few of the Communities have a "more about.." link with a webpage and pics and info.
Is that what you're looking for? What am I missing? I'm SO used to everything and where it all is of course that often what seems blindingly obvious to me ISN'T to anyone else - and that's where you guys come in.
And "prominent" is relative - too many links for it ALL to be prominent! What's the priorities? Comments anyone / everyone?
hope that helps,

This thread prompted me to click on the link suggested by Grant. I found the instructions perfectly clear and admirably comprehensive: if I want to contact a community, I click next to their name, fill in my contact information and query, then click the green "contact a community" button....and wait for a response.
Dave, I have to say that I find your questions less clear, and perhaps that's part of the problem. I don't really know what you mean by "our" web page: who's "us?" Your community? Do you have one? Does it have a web page? If so, is it linked in the list of communities? I get the feeling you may be less than clear about the exact nature of what is here being called a "community," but I'm not sure about that either.
Hope my post comes across in the constructive spirit in which it is intended. I've found this site and its users almost uniformly supportive and friendly, once they understand what's asked.
enjoy,
Mark

Well explained Mark!
BUT I did just have a (rare) flash of genius/memory - Canadian Dave started a Community in Zibo China last year, and I created a webpage for Zibo. It was supposed to have been listed on the Contact Community page as noted above - but somehow that ONE got missed and isn't listed there. But it is now! I sent him an email about it but I guess it got lost.
Note: an alternate route to many Communities is via the Country page - link on left, ( simply /country ) and then the country link has info and links too.
Dave, does THAT answer your question?

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
