tooltip for long titles
Hi Grant and Susan,
I am not the most experienced computer user so maybe there is a term for what I am trying to ask, but this sentence describes it all:
Hover the mouse cursor over the title for a tooltip to appear with the full title.
I wonder why this does not exist on the Hubb. When a thread has a long tittle now it is not always possible to know what the thread is about without opening the thread. With a tooltip to appear it would be easier for the user to see if that thread is of interest for him/her or not.
Best regards,
Rögnvaldur

Interesting question!
It USED TO work on everything, but now it seems it only works on Firefox - for me at least, on Windows 10. My personal all the time browser is Firefox, it's the only one I have any semblance of trust that also performs well and reliably.
Chrome, IE, Edge, Opera and Tor all only show the full URL you're going to in the status bar at the bottom, which does help as it's longer text. That's GOOD and really required for security, but killing the tooltips (otherwise known as "title") is stupid.
Firefox!

Guess what..............I am using Firefox, and yes on windows 10
On picture screenshot 1 I had the mouse on the red text (title) and you can see a tooltip appeared with the full text. This also works for my bookmarks.
On screenshot 2 I had my mouse at the title ¨Guide recs Mongolian border....¨ but as you see no tooltip, only the statusbar below.

Ah, minor detail - you're going through a translator - all bets are off! Anything can happen.
Having said that, hovering over "Guide Recs Mongolian border" I get a tooltip:
but it's NOT the long tooltip description. It's only the full title of the THREAD.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
