Updates

I'm working on updating the site. Can someone tell me: can you see the front page properly still (I've just made some changes that could break it if I've got them wrong.) And can you see http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/tripplan/bike/

Thanks,

Jeff

At this moment, there is a missing image on the frontpage
(if you see an image, it's fixed)
http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...s/misc/rss.jpg

small point:
I see lot's of the fonts are changed now (from Times to Verdana), I like it, but some of the headlines still popup in Times, probaply some inconsequence (sp?) in the ccs or templates, I guess H1,H2 and so on, are still unasigned or wrong, same goes for some fontsizes (different sizes in one article or chapter makes it little difficult to read).

Thanks, Keep up the good work

BTW: windowsXP-IE7

Apologies if you were affected by the changes this evening.

We made some major changes behind the scenes today, and you might have seen some of the glitches along the way. Sorry if you followed a broken link this evening. Those should all be fixed now.

If you'd like a preview of what we are working towards for the first stage of changes www.horizonsunlimited.com/tripplan/bike is a page which is handled by the new backend.

If you see problems with that page, or any others, leave a note in this thread.

Thanks,

Jeff

Updates finished for tonight

You should see, a new menu structure in the HUBB, and on other pages that are handled by the new backend. A cleaner top section, updated breadcrumb that works properly on any page handled by the new backend, fewer options on the navbar, and some tidying.

If you see strangeness, please leave us a note.

Thanks,

Jeff

New layout...

....looks much better than before. Easier to navigate, clear, keep it up!!!

Just one more thing - on the technical tips site the following links are out:

Air Filter Testing Result
Race Tech Gold Valve
Idler Shaft Lever aka "doohickey"

Just since you are working on the URL already - why not fix this stuff, too.

Thanks Klaus! Anyone know the correct links? We haven't time to search for it right now, still lots to do to the system.

Klaus is talking about this page:

http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/tech/

thanks! We're getting there!

Thanks Patrick.

What browser / operating system are you using? I'm not seeing it with IE7 or Firefox.

Ancient IE on Mac

Patrick,

We'll look at that old version of IE, and see if there's anything to be done about the layout, but don't get your hopes too high; we've upgraded the HTML so that newer browsers get a better experience.

There's an old version of Mozilla Firefox, which might do better, somewhere on the net. It runs on MacOS 9.2. It's not entirely Mac-like, but it may be better than IE. It may take some fiddling to install.

Try these two links:
Unofficial Mozilla for Mac OS 9 (Mac OS Classic)
Mozilla 1.2.1 – Mac OS – VersionTracker

You probably know this: all browsers have security holes. Older ones have problems that lots of people know about. Don't keep anything you wouldn't want someone knowing, on a computer with a browser that is wide open.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
