what do I do with afriend request?
I have tried accepting it but it is always marked as unread. the other flags all work.
I am so glad the drop down menu for new posts now display on the same page, it was annoying to have to scroll down.

Accept Friends - yeah it's kinda sneaky - there's actually a check box IN the "box" that contains the name - you need to tick that to select it, then save changes. Otherwise it doesn't know which friend you have accepted - if you had several requests, you might want to only accept some, not all, so this way you can choose. But with one it's NOT obvious, sorry!
Dropdowns - yup, much better! There is still one place it's not right, (no I'm not going to tell you where ) and we're working on it.

uh no!
I didn't write the code that makes the HUBB do what it does, thankfully!
The software is vBulletin, and it's pretty much out of the box, except for the look, (colours mostly) and a few additional tweaks like the New Posts dropdown.
And it does drive me crazy sometimes! Every once in a while someone comes up with a question like this, and I don't know the answer 'cause I've never used the feature, and so have to go and work it out, like this time.
You should see the admin control panel - there's thousands of options and most of them very cryptic!
have fun!

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
