European dissident in Africa :)
Hello everyone!!
I'm, kinda, new on 2 wheels altogether. I was NOT sitting on a motorcycle for over 30 years since my teenage years when I was learning to ride on some eastern european 125cc
Now, having spent my life stuck in traffic jams while living in big European capitals... I am out of Europe, living my mad African life on a locally popular Indian motorbike.
But, no more big traffic even though shitty roads full of pot-holes, cows sleeping in the middle of the roads, no road signs, no consideration to the traffic lights, people riding, walking, driving in all directions, head-on, etc, etc. Fun.... good to keep ALL your senses switched on... PROPER!
It's an interesting place to start or re-start your motorbiking adventure... especially when you feel that you need to learn how to ride a bike again
At least the weather is good
I'll got a couple of questions related to a choice of bikes for my planned adventures here in Africa now... and I thought I'd love to listen to your suggestions.
next post to come in the relevant section
Thank you

Stone Town / Zanzibar / Tanzania
Well, the choice between putting up with British miserable weather and going to another insane lockdown, all my hobbies, my job, etc etc being killed in front of my eyes.... VS living like you're on holidays, riding a motocycle in 30 degrees in shorts, t-shirt 365 days / year etc etc...
I think, at some point in your life, enough is enough.
How? well.... turn off the TV, believe nobody, book the ticket, burn the bridges (optional), have no plan B... and go for it.
P.S. sorry, I'm just being silly with those emojes

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
